Green Coffee Extract is a natural compound that promotes healthy blood sugar metabolism and helps maintain already-healthy glucose and insulin levels after meals. The reason could be its chlorogenic acid, a polyphenol found in the green coffee bean.
Chlorogenic acid inhibits the activity of glucose-6-phosphatase.3 The glucose-6-phosphatase enzyme triggers glucose formation from non-carbohydrate substrates and glycogen release from the liver, both of which can create excess glucose in the blood.
Chlorogenic acid also targets the alpha-glucosidase enzyme.4 This intestinal enzyme breaks apart complex sugars and promotes their absorption into the bloodstream.
Why CoffeeGenic® Green Coffee Extract?
Coffee grows on trees and the fruit is a berry. The berry contains green seeds, which are the “coffee beans.” The outer part of the berry is washed away to get to the seeds, as they have a high amount of phenolic compounds.
